SEEKING CRIB AND TODDLER BED

We have someone in need of a crib and toddler bed.  If you have either that you can donate, please contact Pastor David or the office to make the arrangements

FINANCE NEWS

The Pastor’s Discretionary Fund has had several recent requests for assistance. This is a designated fund and is replenished only by specific gifts to that line item. As the Lord lays on your heart, please consider a contribution to assist with benevolent needs.  (Donations to this fund must be marked on your check or envelope.) Also, the air conditioner in the balcony is no longer working and needs to be replaced. This can be done with the Capital Expense line, which is a budgeted item. However, as you are aware, our Current Expense fund needs to be built up, after the summer lull. If you are able to give extra to current expense, it will allow us to accomplish this major repair, as well as some other things needing to be done. Thank you for giving to the Lord.   (Designate general fund on your check or envelope.)

Charge Conference Date

Our annual charge conference will be held on Saturday, October 13 from 9 am to noon, at First United Methodist Church, 126 South Pine Street, Sebring, FL  33870.

This year, South West District faith communities will gather for one of three super-charged events. There will be several inspirational speakers as well as worship, celebration, connection and the business of the charge conference.

All are invited to attend this fun event; however only members are permitted to vote.  Carlson will be voting on the Pastor’s salary (salary recommendation presented by SPRC), church leadership for 2019 (slate of nominees presented by the nominating committee), removal of members who have been on the list for two years, and Hannah Mary Perry’s candidacy for ordained ministry.

Wednesday Nights @ Carlson

Wednesday Nights @ Carson will return on September 5th.  Wednesday evening class descriptions and menus are under the worship tab.  The Kitchen Angels are gearing up for another great year of dinners.  If you are interested in organizing one of the weekly meals let the office know.  You would need to plan the menu, shop for ingredients and oversee the volunteers who will help you cook and serve the meal.
