“Ways to Give Your Tithes & Offerings”
Established in 1908 as the Florida Methodist Orphanage, our FL United Methodist Children’s Home cares for children who have been the victim of abuse, neglect or abandonment.
Their work and Mission is: Empowering children and families to experience the transforming love of Christ through holistic care.
The “Fifth Sunday” offering was introduced in the early years, along with many individual gifts, to establish and expand land and buildings for operation.
The Children’s Home is more than just three meals a day, a safe place to sleep and basic care. They provide specialized care to meet the emotional and psychological needs of the children. The “campus” includes a gym, a chapel, and a ropes course in addition to their various housing and educational buildings.
The Florida United Methodist Children’s Home is now a diverse ministry that includes residential care, therapeutic group care, foster care, emergency shelter care, independent living assistance, and community child care center.
The Fifth Sunday Offering, remains one of the vital means of support for the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home. Each church within the FL United Methodist Conference has a giving goal each year.
We usually exceed our goal, but are way down this year. Carlson’s Goal for the year is $2,220. March of this year held our first “Fifth Sunday” but our doors were closed. Let us continue to help these children by giving to fulfill our goal! Denote on your check or giving envelope “UM Children’s Home” or select the FL UM Children’s Home when donating online. Our received giving for this year so far is $100. Next Sunday (Nov 29th) is a “Fifth Sunday!” but of course we can give at any time. Thank you for supporting this ministry.
